Model Context Protocol

Ask your AI coding tool
why conversion dropped this week.

MetricTrail runs a real MCP (Model Context Protocol) server — a live endpoint that Cursor, Claude Desktop, or any other MCP client can query directly for your product's actual telemetry, using the same data and definitions as the dashboard. No copy-pasting numbers into a chat window.

Available tools

query_overview — Observed product metrics for a project over a 1–90 day window: visitors, sessions, conversion, and their period-over-period deltas.
query_monitoring — Tracking health, Web Vitals, grouped runtime problems, release comparisons and the event catalog — the same definitions used by the dashboard.
list_funnels — List your saved, versioned funnel definitions for a project.
query_funnel — Analyze a saved funnel using the same definition and conversion window as the dashboard; immature retention cells return null instead of a misleading number.

Setup

The server speaks Streamable HTTP at https://api.metrictrail.io/mcp, authenticated with the same project write key you already use for the tracking SDK (find it under Integrations in your project settings). Add it to your MCP client's config:

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "metrictrail": {
      "url": "https://api.metrictrail.io/mcp",
      "headers": {
        "Authorization": "Bearer <PROJECT_WRITE_KEY>"
      }
    }
  }
}

Requires an active MetricTrail subscription and a project role of owner, admin, or member.
